KS2 Teaching Assistant

Job description

Job Duties:

Supporting SEN pupils on a 1:1 basis within KS2

Assisting the teacher in creating a positive and engaging learning environment

Helping prepare and organise teaching materials and resources required for pupils requiring support

Assisting with classroom management, maintaining discipline and promoting positive behaviour

Providing feedback to the teacher on students' progress and behaviour

Assisting in assessing and recording students' work and achievements

Collaborating with other teaching assistants and school staff to support the overall educational goals

Attending staff meetings and training sessions as required

Required Qualifications:

Minimum of GCSE qualifications in English and Mathematics

Relevant experience working with children or young people

Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students

Good time management and the ability to prioritise tasks

Education:

GCSE qualifications in English and Mathematics

Additional relevant qualifications in education or child development are desirable

Experience:

Prior experience working with children or young people in an educational setting (preferably with SEN)

Experience assisting teachers in delivering lessons and supporting students' learning

Knowledge and Skills:

Understanding of educational principles and learning strategies

Familiarity with relevant teaching resources and materials

Proficient in using basic computer applications and educational software

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to adapt and work effectively in a dynamic classroom environment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
