KS2 Teacher

I am working in partnership with the headteacher of a SEMH provision in Darwen. The headteacher is looking to appoint an enthusiastic KS2 Primary teacher, with the stamina and desire to support children with SEMH (Social, Emotional, Mental Health). The applicant must be available full-time (Monday – Friday) starting from September 2024.

Pay will be dependent on skills and experience.

Monday – Friday (8am – 4pm)

Fixed term for a year, with the view to become permanent.

This is a primary setting that provides children who may struggle to strive in a mainstream setting a chance to overcome barriers to learning and to meet their expectations. It is a fully inclusive school, and they pride themselves on their enriched alternative curriculum they provide for their children, embedding nurture and understanding throughout.

The role

As many of the children who attend this setting have SEMH and/ or ASC the teacher will support the learning of individuals through teaching useful strategies, such as social skills, emotional wellbeing, and mental health. As a Primary Teacher you will open opportunities for all children to engage with their learning. The role will involve creating and maintain positive relationships with the children, creating an environment for children to flourish.

Hold QTS and/or PGCE

Have a strong work ethic

Be comfortable working with children with SEN, including challenging behaviour

Be able to set firm but fair boundaries and have a nurturing approach.
