Teaching Personnel are working with a Pupil Referral Unit in York, we are looking to recruit a KS1 Teacher who has excellent behaviour management skills. So, if you're qualified to teach the primary curriculum and have experience in managing challenging behaviour, we may have the ideal role for you.

The PRU is located in Fulford, York. These students have been allocated to this provision as they have been excluded from mainstream education and therefore have extremely challenging behaviour. There is also a special educational needs class which has mixed abilities; Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties, English as an Additional Language and students with Social Emotional and Mental Health Needs. The school caters for students aged between 4 - 19 years of age. KS1 classes are mixed with lower ability students in KS2. There will be around 8 students in each class with two teaching assistants. You would be required to plan your own lessons and mark the work.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status or have delivered in a UK School for at least a year within the last 6 years
  • Ability to travel to Fulford and Acomb
  • Minimum availability of 2 days a week
  • Ability to provide proof of grades, increases in attainment and have dealt with behaviour within the classroom
  • An Enhanced Valid Child Only DBS registered with the Update Service or will complete through Teaching personnel

Location: Fulford, York

Contract: Temporary with opportunity for permanent work for the right candidate

Pay: £110 - £140
