About the Role

Teaching Personnel are pleased to be working with a supportive and well-resourced primary school in Shepton Mallet, which is seeking a Key Stage 2 Teacher to join their team from January 2026.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to deliver high-quality teaching and support pupils’ academic and personal development in a positive and inclusive learning environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and assess lessons in line with the Key Stage 2 national curriculum.
  • Maintain a positive classroom environment that encourages engagement, curiosity, and progress.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff to ensure all pupils reach their potential.
  • Undertake professional responsibilities including marking, assessment, and participation in school activities.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Have experience teaching in Key Stage 2.
  • Demonstrate effective classroom management and the ability to motivate and inspire pupils.
  • Be well-organised, proactive, and committed to high educational standards.
  • Enjoy working as part of a collaborative school team.

Safeguarding and Compliance

All candidates are required to complete a full vetting process through Teaching Personnel, including:

  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service.
  • Completion of mandatory safeguarding training.
  • An informal interview including classroom-based questions.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
