Graduate Teaching Assistants looking to become Teachers

  • Are you a Graduate looking for a full time, permanent, fulfilling Teaching Assistant role?
  • Are you looking to start your Teacher career in September 2018 but would like to develop your Education knowledge beforehand?
  • Are you career focused and have a passion for working with Children?

This is an excellent two-form entry primary school in Chelsea. Teaching is of an Ofsted “Good”standard and pupil behaviour is “Outstanding”. Leadership and management is also “Outstanding”, making this an excellent school for a teaching assistant to grow into a teacher.

You will be joining a KS2 class as a general teaching assistant with the responsibility of supporting all pupils within the class. Literacy and numeracy will be your main focus and you will work with groups of pupils to help them make progress in these areas. The teacher will look to you to take on further teaching assistant responsibility as the year progress and as you develop in confidence. There may be situations where you conduct small group teaching assistant sessions to reinforce key curriculum concepts. Furthermore, some pupils in the class may need additional teaching assistant support due to their additional learning difficulties- dyslexia/ADHD/ADD.

The school is looking to attract a very specific teaching assistant candidate – a graduate with relevant experience. You must also be considering an initial teacher training course the following academic year, after a successful post as a teaching assistant, in September 2018. Future Teachers placements may be offered to teaching assistants who excel and show the correct aptitude in their practice.

As an individual, the school will be seeking confident and efficient teaching assistants who conduct themselves with a proactive approach. You should be the type of teaching assistant who looks to go beyond their expected responsibilities, helping in all areas of the school so you become an effective member of its daily routine.

If you would like to apply for this role, please send your CV to zoe.bennett@teachingpersonnel.com
