A larger than average Primary school situated in Colne has approached Teaching Personnel in order to source a Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant. This is due to the school receiving funding for an additional member of staff to support the Year 5 and Year 6 classes in the new academic year.

They are hoping to find an enthusiastic individual who can offer additional support to year 5 and 6 pupils. The role is on a full time basis (Monday – Friday, 8.45- 3.30) to ideally start after the summer holidays on the 2nd December 2019. The Head Teacher understands the suitable candidate may not be available at the beginning of December therefore there is flexibility with the start date. The position is for two academic years in order to support the current year 5 and 6 pupils and then to follow the year 5 class into year 6.

The main purpose of the role is to support the children in year 5 and 6 that require a boost in English and Maths. In the morning, you be supporting groups of children within the class. Then in the afternoons you would be planning and leading small group interventions out of class, mainly in preparation for the SATs towards the end of the academic year. You would be given allocated time to plan the interventions and receive support from the class teacher with regards to the objectives/ subject coverage.
