Job description

An intervention teacher plays a key role in assisting students who are experiencing difficulties in the classroom. Rooted in a special education background, an intervention teacher provides expertise and intentional support to students who demonstrate behavioural, social and educational challenges.

As an intervention teacher, you will be working with young people who have an EHCP (Education Health Care Plan). You could be working on a 1:1 basis or with small groups of students. You could be working directly with schools or alongside the local authority to teach looked after children.

To be considered for this role it is essential you have QTS with extensive experience working with young people who have special needs. Any further education related to SEN will help your application but this is not essential. We are also looking for someone who:

-          Can build positive working relationships with parents and other professionals

-          Has excellent communication skills

-          Can assess and develop students progress

-          Can differentiate lesson plans as and when needed

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
