Teaching Personnel are working with our client school in Andover and seek to appoint a motivated, energetic and enthusiastic teacher of humanities specialising in either history geography or RE from September 2020.
We are looking for someone with excellent subject knowledge, who is able to respond positively and creatively to the expectations of the subject and will have the ability to enthuse students.
You will be expected to deliver well planned and engaging lessons to help our students to make excellent progress across Key Stages 3 and 4.
The successful candidate must have good organisation and communication skills and embrace school life.
This is a successful 11-16 community school under a new leadership team/head teacher, the students are friendly and confident and they strive to ensure that they achieve the success that they deserve. For both the last two years the school has been above the national average for the Basics measure (9 – 4 in English and Maths) 62% and 63% respectively
The school currently humanities are very popular subjects, with a large number of students choosing one or more at GCSE. Last year 84% of students got a passing grade across the board in humanities subjects which the school are very proud of, however they are aiming to continue and build on this success in years to come, with your help!
The humanities faculty comprises of five other members of staff currently, each has their own teaching room. Classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards and audio equipment to ensure your lessons can be designed and differentiated to each class easily. This will leave you full equipped to teach to the best of your ability with the assistance of the supportive and ambitious head of department.
If you are an NQT, the school have a successful NQT integration and mentoring programme which will full support you into a new career.
The school welcome applicants now for this September role and interviews will take place online due to the current COVID19 outbreak. The school are hoping to have secured their teacher prior to the summer holidays.
