HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) – Primary Schools | Barnsley & Sheffield

Are you an experienced HLTA ready to take the next step in your career? We are seeking confident and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistants to support thriving primary schools across Barnsley and Sheffield.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in raising attainment and supporting pupils across a range of year groups.

The Role

As an HLTA, you will:

• Deliver planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher.

• Lead small group interventions to boost progress in English and Maths.

• Support pupils with additional needs, including SEND.

• Work collaboratively with teachers to plan and adapt learning activities.

• Contribute to assessment, tracking, and pupil progress monitoring.

‍ What We’re Looking For

• HLTA status or equivalent qualification/experience.

• Previous experience working within a primary school setting.

• Confidence leading whole-class learning when required.

• Strong understanding of the primary curriculum.

• Excellent communication, organisation, and behaviour management skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
