Job Vacancy: History Teacher at a Special School, Paignton

About the Role:
As a History Teacher att this Special School, you will have the opportunity to inspire and educate students who have autism, ADHD, and social and emotional mental health needs. While a formal teaching qualification is not required, a solid understanding of the history subject and a genuine interest in working with students with diverse learning profiles are essential. You will play a crucial role in creating engaging lesson plans, fostering a supportive learning environment, and tailoring your teaching approach to meet the individual needs of each student.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality history lessons that are accessible and engaging for students with varied learning needs.
- Differentiate instruction to accommodate the diverse abilities and learning styles of students.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported.
- Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to provide holistic support for students' academic and social development.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support as needed.
Requirements:
- Good knowledge of the history subject.
- Passion for working with children who have autism, ADHD, and social and emotional mental health needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
