History Teacher - September 2019

History teacher required on a full-time basis for a large secondary school based in Orrell, Wigan.

Due to an emerging gap within the Humanities faculty, the school wish to appoint an experienced History teacher on a full-time basis that is able to join the school for the full academic year.

The school wish to appoint a History teacher 12 month temporary basis initially; however there will be an opportunity to secure a permanent position during the academic year.

  • Full time History teacher required ahead of the new academic year, September 2019 start.
  • Initially being offered on a 12 month temporary basis with a permanent opportunity due to restructuring the department.
  • Ofsted graded 'Good' Secondary school located on the border of Bolton and Bury
  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS dependant on experience (ÂŁ23,720 - ÂŁ39,406 per annum)

The successful History teacher must have experience teaching History at both Key Stage Three and GCSE level and have the ability to engage their pupils, creating enthusiasm for the subject. It is essential that the incoming History teacher is able to differentiate work to meet the needs of all pupils and challenge their learning capabilities to ensure all pupils can excel.

The incoming member of staff will be joining a school that currently caters 950 pupils, making it large when compared to other schools in the area. The majority of these students come from a white British background.

Located on the outskirts of Wigan town centre this school is easily accessible from the surrounding areas of Ashton-in-Makerfield, Golborne and Tyldesley via the M6 motorway. There are also direct transport links from Wigan town centre.
