Teacher –History
Location: Chaldon, Surrey 
Contract: Full-time, Permanent 
Salary: £34,398 - £48,913 per year (M1 - UPS1 Fringe) **  Plus £5,000 Welcome bonus For Qualified Teacher*
Hours: 40 hours per week - Start time 8.15am - Finish time Monday/Wednesday/Thursday 4.45pm. Tuesday 5pm and Friday 4pm

Teaching Personnel are excited to be working with a brand new SEND Secondary school that opened in September 2025. The school cater for young people aged 11-16 who require support with social communication, emotional regulation and sensory processing, typically associated with Autism.

Key duties: 

  • To contribute to the delivery and development of the curriculum, having regard to the educational, physical and social needs of the students within a learning environment. 
  • To work collaboratively with other members of staff as part of a multi-disciplinary team. 
  • To maintain and use short, medium and long term plans in delivering the curriculum.  
  • To set, monitor and review personalised targets that will optimise learning for each individual. 
  • To monitor, assess, review and report on the progress and work of students to parents, team members, senior staff, examination and funding bodies through reports and identified meetings as directed and as is required through school policies and procedures. 
  • To develop lesson plans analysing and self-reflecting on the outcomes.  
  • To contribute to the review of Statements and EHC plans, PEP and LAC reviews. 

Successful candidate qualities: 

  • PGCE, Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training. 
  • Ability to teach History and Geography up to and including GCSE level 
  • Working knowledge of students with complex needs and SEND. 
  • Evidence of sound knowledge of the national curriculum.  
  • Knowledge, understanding and experience of autism and associated co-morbid conditions and how these can affect learning. 
  • Curriculum development and implementation for pupils with SEND

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
