Full time Teacher of History required for an Ofsted rated 'Good' with 'Outstanding' features Secondary school within the Sheffield LEA.

Our client Secondary school based in the outskirts of Sheffield have identified an emerging gap within the Science faculty for a dynamic History Teacher. Due to a restructure of responsibilities within the Science department, the school require a Teacher of History on a full time temporary basis for the full academic year, commencing in September 2018.

  • Full time Teacher of History required for a secondary school based in Sheffield
  • September 2018 start. Initially on a temporary basis for the full academic year with the opportunity to progress on to a permanent with the school if successful.
  • Opportunity to work in an Ofsted rated 'Good' Secondary School.
  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS £22, 917 - £38, 633 *Experience dependent.

This large Secondary school based in Sheffield has just over 1300 pupils on roll, aged 11-18. The school has consistently received positive Ofsted ratings and continue to move forward under the guidance of its Senior Leadership Team.

The incoming Teacher of History can expect to join a supportive staff team, in a department enjoyed by pupils across the board.

You will be expected to;

  • Plan, prepare and monitor class work reporting back to senior leadership accordingly.
  • Experience working within the History curriculum at Key Stage 3-4 is essential and any additional experience will be highly beneficial.
  • Manage behaviour in accordance to the school behaviour policies.
  • Promote a growth mind set amongst all young people in order to raise attainment.

This well respected Secondary school can be easily accessed via the M1 and the surrounding areas; Barnsley, Rotherham and Doncaster. There are also a range of public transport options, for those who do not drive; with links throughout Sheffield
