Teaching Personnel are working with a supportive secondary school based in Fareham who are seeking an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Teacher of History. The successful candidate will ideally join the team April 2024 and contribute to the development of our ambitious and exciting curriculum.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a school Ofsted rated ‘Good’ school with a strong sense of community and a fantastic team of specialist staff. You will join the Humanities department which has very strong uptake for GCSE History, Geography and Ethics and Beliefs.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for teachers who are imaginative, creative and inspiring to work in a supportive, energetic and innovative school where students achieve well and which is highly-regarded in the local community.

Teaching Personnel have an outstanding reputation for training and developing colleagues. Therefore, applications are welcome from ECTs as well as experienced teachers.

What are we looking for?

  • Confidence, enthusiasm, and a passion for teaching
  • Capable of planning for students from a variety of backgrounds and abilities, and inspiring them to reach their full potential
  • A knowledge and understanding of a range of teaching, learning and behaviour management strategies and know how to use and adapt them to motivate students
  • A track record of positive impact upon student outcomes
  • Excellent subject knowledge
  • Commitment to sharing best practice with colleagues in the department. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

 The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Experience of delivering History GCSE
  • Suitable school-based references
  • Have and up to date DBS with the Update Service/be willing to apply for an enhanced DBS
  • A willingness to undertake CPD and contribute to the wider school life
  • Be educated to degree level
  • Hold QTS (or an equivalent qualification)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
