Job description

A primary school located in Wakefield (WF4) are looking for a HLTA to support learning across their KS2 classes from September until Christmas 2022. Please read on for more details on the role and how to apply!

The SLT have decided to restructure their PPA cover due to some extended staff absences, and therefore need someone who can perform general TA functions for most of the week, but can also confidently take KS2 classes on a weekly basis to cover some PPA and general sickness. This role would be ideal for anyone with aspirations of becoming a teacher who wants to get as much experience in classrooms as possible.

What the school want:

  • HLTA qualification or equivalent (Educational based degree with placements)
  • OR Final Year Student/NQT/Graduate.
  • Experience in KS2
  • Available full-time from 5th September

The role involves general class TA duties for most of the week but also covering in KS2 classes if and when required, so the candidate should be flexible in this sense. This would be general support by ensuring that the class is following and engaged in the teacher’s lesson plan. It will also regularly involve taking smaller intervention groups on specific topics they might be struggling in, particularly English and Maths, so experience leading interventions in the past would be useful.

If you are keen for this role please email your up to date CV to Rav at the Leeds Primary branch on the details below or, register to Teaching Personnel online.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role as well as the Right to Work in the UK. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
