Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Warrington (WA3)

Start Date: After October half-term
Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary (with potential to become permanent)
Salary: Dependent on experience and qualifications

A vibrant and welcoming primary school in Warrington (WA3) is seeking an experienced and confident Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team after October half-term. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled educator who enjoys taking initiative, supporting learning across the curriculum, and leading small group or whole-class sessions.

Role Overview:

  • Deliver planned lessons and learning activities in the absence of the class teacher.
  • Support teaching and learning across a range of age groups and subjects.
  • Work alongside teachers to prepare resources, adapt lessons, and provide targeted interventions.
  • Lead small groups and one-to-one support sessions to raise pupil attainment.
  • Provide feedback on pupil progress and contribute to planning and assessment.
  • Help to maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • HLTA status or equivalent Level 4 qualification (or significant classroom experience).
  • Confidence leading whole-class teaching and small group interventions.
  • A solid understanding of the primary curriculum and how to support differentiated learning.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • A proactive, flexible approach and a passion for helping children reach their potential.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
