Job description

Teaching Personnel are working with a Primary School in the Dorchester area who are looking for a HLTA to join their team.

This position is until the end of the academic year to start with however is likely to go into the following year if pupil returns. 

The Primary School is Mainstream with a small amount of pupils who require support with SEN & SEMH within the different year groups.

Role:

  • The school need an experienced Teaching Assistant with strong knowledge and background within an SEN environment. 
  • Supporting several year groups and pupils across the school.
  • May be required to support a pupil on a 1 to 1 basis, makng sure they are engaging in the lesson structure.
  • Supporting class teacher with administrative tasks and classroom behaviour management. 
  • Taking pupils out of classroom to de-escalate where needed. 

Requirements:

  • Strong experience working with Key Stage 1 & 2 children both in mainstream and SEN environments.
  • Enhanced child only DBS Certificate that is registered on the update Service (TP can assist with this where needed)
  • You will need to be able to think on your feet and be adaptable to change.
  • Come up with creative ways to engage the students and maintain concentration levels.
  • Safeguarding Certificate (TP can assist with this where needed)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
