Head of School– High Wycombe
We are seeking an inspiring and experienced Head of School– High Wycombe to lead a specialist educational provision in High Wycombe, supporting young people who thrive in a personalised, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment. This role is ideal for a confident school leader who can drive high standards in teaching, learning, pastoral support, and whole-school development.
The successful candidate will bring vision, integrity, and compassion—ensuring every pupil receives the high‑quality education and individualised support they deserve.
Key Information
- Location: High Wycombe
- Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
- Working Hours: 8:30am – 5:00pm
- Work Location: On-site
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and overall management of the school.
- Lead, motivate, and develop teaching and support staff.
- Drive excellence in teaching, learning, and curriculum design.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe school culture where all pupils can succeed.
- Oversee the provision for pupils with SEN and additional needs.
- Ensure full compliance with safeguarding, Ofsted standards, and statutory guidance.
- Build strong relationships with parents, carers, external agencies, and the wider community.
- Monitor school performance and implement effective school improvement strategies.
- Manage budgets and resources in line with organisational and educational priorities.
Requirements
- A degree in a relevant subject area.
- QTS or QTLS (or an equivalent recognised overseas qualification).
- Substantial leadership experience in a school (e.g., Deputy Head, Assistant Head, Headteacher, or similar strategic role).
- Proven track record of improving teaching, learning, and student outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, regulatory compliance, and SEN best practice.
- Excellent communication, decision‑making, and people‑management skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
