Graduate Teaching Assistant – Rochdale

Are you a recent graduate looking for your first role within a secondary school? Would you like to support students as a Teaching Assistant?

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting a recent graduate to join our client secondary school in Rochdale as a Teaching Assistant. With an immediate start available due to the school recently securing extra funding, this is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to get their first role with an education setting.

  • Full time Teaching Assistant role with an immediate start available
  • Recent graduates encouraged to apply (in particular core subject graduates and psychology graduates)
  • Supporting a number of students through 1:1 support and small group intervention
  • ‘Good’ secondary school based in Rochdale
  • Earn up to GBP325 per week
  • Gain valuable experience and be supported by an excellent SEND department
  • Access to CPD sessions delivered by experienced professionals

Our client secondary school is based in they Heywood area of Rochdale and in their most recent Ofsted inspection in 2017, inspectors rated the school as ‘Good’ again with inspectors commenting on the headteacher’s ambition that the school will eventually become ‘Outstanding’. The school has a welcoming atmosphere and teaching and learning is consistently strong. Located a 10 minute drive from the M60 motorway, our client secondary school is easily accessible from a range of locations across Greater Manchester.

As a Teaching Assistant, the successful graduate will be joining a successful and hard working SEND department which is lead by an inspirational SENDCO. Working alongside and learning from a number of experience Teaching Assistants, the role will involve supporting identified students in the classroom, as well as delivering sessions to small groups of key students with an aim to improve their attainment and progress. There will also be opportunities to cover lessons in the absence of class teachers, and so this proves an exciting opportunity for graduates considering a PGCE or alternative teacher training programme in the future.

If you would like to apply for this post as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, please apply via the link below or send an updated CV to Chris Beckenham at Manchester North Secondary directly, alternatively call on the number provided for further information.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
