GRADUATE TEACHING ASSISTANT

Senior Leadership at a Catholic Secondary School in Preston is currently seeking to appoint graduates for a 12 month Teaching Assistant position for the 2019/20 academic year.

The school is an oversubscribed 11-16 provision, based in a small village in Preston. The school is smaller than average, creating a family atmosphere and strong relationships between Staff and Pupils. The school was recently Ofsted graded 'Good' in all areas, with an overwhelming number of parents endorsing the school through the OFSTED online survey saying how safe and well taught their children are at the school. We have constant feedback from our Teachers saying "the kids of great!" and "I've really enjoyed it, I would love to go back."

This collaborative approach gives the school access to an excellent teaching school provision, perfectly suited to guiding aspiring Teachers through their initial stages of their teacher training journey.

This role is designed to give a range of experience throughout the school year in a variety of different positions. Responsibilities include; general classroom support, Cover Supervisor role, 1 to 1 intervention, group intervention sessions and then, towards the end of the year, taking the lead in a classroom as an Unqualified Teacher. Upon completing this position the successful candidate will be fully equipped to start their teacher training.

To be considered for this role candidates should:

• Hold a Bachelors degree, a wide range of subject specialisms are considered (or be graduating in summer 2019)
• Show a desire to work in education and progress onto completing their initial teacher training
• Be able to reach the Preston area
