Graduate Teaching Assistant - Wigan

Would you like to secure a position as a Teaching Assistant within a secondary school where you can make a positive impact within the classroom?

Could you benefit from working in a supportive secondary school ahead of a teacher training course in the future?

If so, Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting Graduates Teaching Assistants for a well respected client secondary school located close to Hindley, Wigan.

  • Full time Graduate Teaching Assistant position - September start
  • You will be support the learning of SEN pupils across all curriculum areas
  • It is essential that you have experience working with SEN pupils aged between 11-16
  • Weekly pay of £300 - £350 experience dependant

Due to an increased number of students on roll this academic year, this Wigan based secondary school are looking to add a number of Graduate Teaching Assistants to their support department in order to provide assistance within the classroom and cover lessons in the absence of a class teacher.

This is a position which is suitable for both graduates who are looking for a career as a teacher in the future or experienced teaching assistants that now wish to further enhance their skills.

To be successful you must be confident and calm when providing support to individual students and be able to promote good learning and behaviour. You will be able to build positive relationships with the students within the school, leading by example and being an excellent role model to the students that you are working alongside.

The successful applicants will have a number of different responsibilities which include; supporting pupils who have mild learning difficulties on a 1:1 basis, monitoring behaviour and attainment levels and supporting the class teacher when needed.

The school that wish to appoint for this position are located close to the Hindley area and can be accessed easily from surrounding areas Bolton, Wigan and Leigh. If commuting via car then you will be just a short drive away from the A577 and travelling on public transport you will have extremely good transport links.
