Are you considering a career in teaching and would like to gain classroom experience before applying for a PGCE?

Perhaps you are a Psychology graduate with an interest in Conditions such as Autism, ADHD, and social and emotional difficulties?

Teaching Personnel is seeking Graduate Teaching Assistants for a number of roles in Secondary Schools in Newport and the surrounding areas.

We are seeking Teaching Assistants particularly in Newport, Caldicot, Cwmbran and Ebbw Vale.

Job Overview:

  • GBP300 - GBP350 a week pay
  • Full time and Part time roles available
  • Immediate Start!

The role of a Graduate Teaching Assistant:

Working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant you will be providing support for pupils both in class and out of lessons within the school SEN faculty.  The pupils you support will be KS3 and KS4 pupils that require both 1:1 and small group intervention.  You will be supported by the class teachers and the SENCO.

Opportunities to add your creativity and extra-curricular interests are welcomed, and the ability to run clubs will be supported!  Particularly, if you are into sports the school would love for you to get the pupils engaged in their learning through sport activities.

 

Ideally you will have:

  • A degree - any specialism
  • Volunteer or work experience working with children/ youth groups
  • Experience or interest in supporting individuals with Special Educational Needs

Working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant is the perfect opportunity to gain classroom experience if you are considering a career in teaching!

The successful applicant must have an enhanced DBS, EWC registration and be able to provide two references.  Teaching Personnel can help you apply for these.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
