Graduate Teaching Assistant

Bristol

Post Easter start

Full-time and part-time available

£57 to £65 per day

Are you a graduate with a degree that is relevant to subjects taught in secondary schools? Are you looking to pursue a career as a teacher but need to gain school based experience before starting a PGCE or other initial teacher training? Teaching Personnel is working with a number of Secondary Schools in the Keynsham area that are looking to appoint graduates for Teaching Assistant positions NOW to run until the end of this academic year and to continue into next!

In the meantime, you will be able to work in local schools and build your CV with some excellent experience.

The positions on offer are: Teaching Assistant, Cover Supervisor and SEND support (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) meaning the successful applicant will work within their degree subject department providing support within the classroom and to small groups of pupils or on a 1:1 basis. The role will see you working with pupils across the age range, often with a focus on supporting pupils coming up to national exams, supporting them in ensuring they hit their targeted achievement levels. This could mean working with gifted and talented pupils on a one to one or group basis, working with pupils who require intervention due to falling behind their targeted attainment levels, again on a one to one or group basis or supporting the class teacher within the classroom during standard lessons. The schools we work with will support the applicants with the development of their skills, over time ceding more responsibility to you, to provide you with a strong grounding and experience that will stand you in good stead for your teacher training.

A number of the schools that we work with offer School Direct and Teach First places meaning should you impress during your tenure there may be the option to complete your teacher training the following year at the same school. If you are interested in becoming a teacher this position is ideal for you! To apply for this position please contact me on the details provided and quote "Graduate Teaching Assistant". I look forward to your call.
