Graduate Teaching Assistant Position - Pathway to Teacher Training
Location: Bournemouth
Start Date: September or October 2024
Salary: Competitive, to be discussed during the interview
Contract: Full-time, two-year program leading to a salaried teacher training route
Are you a recent graduate passionate about making a difference in education? Do you aspire to become a qualified teacher and want a solid foundation of experience before commencing formal teacher training? We are excited to offer a unique opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team in Bournemouth as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, with a pathway to our salaried teacher training program.
About the Role: This two-year program is designed to provide you with comprehensive classroom experience and professional development. In the first year, you will work closely with experienced teachers, supporting students in their learning and contributing to the overall school environment. In the second year, you will transition into a salaried teacher training route, where you will receive structured training and mentorship to achieve Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist classroom teachers with lesson preparation and delivery
- Support students individually or in small groups to enhance their learning
- Help manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment
- Contribute to the planning and execution of school activities and events
- Participate in professional development sessions and training programs
- Work collaboratively with staff to support the school’s educational objectives
Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in any subject
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English at grade C/4 or above
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A genuine passion for education and working with young people
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
