Are you a university graduate looking for a career in education in the future?

If so, Teaching Personnel have been asked to recruit an Graduate with aspirations to teach ahead of the new school year in September for a client school based in Wigan.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to build key experience  within a well respected school within the Wigan area and gain the necessary experience required for a teacher training course in the future.

As a Graduate Teaching assistant, you will be supporting teaching staff within lessons making sure that students are on task and helping the lesson operate smoothly.

  • Full time Graduate Teaching Assistant - September 2021.
  • 12-month temporary role for the right applicant.
  • Working within a supportive secondary school with a track record of supporting graduates with teaching aspirations.
  • You can expect to earn GBP330- GBP370 per week.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will be you will be assisting the teacher in class helping them manage behaviour of students. You may have the opportunity to cover lessons in the absence of a class teacher where all work will be pre-set, in a class where you already have a good relationship with students.

You will lead small intervention sessions with students that are behind in work as well as working alongside pupils on 1:1 basis. As a graduate teaching assistant, you will receive complete support from senior members of staff and heads of department throughout your time at school.

This is an excellent opportunity a Graduate Teaching Assistant to secure a position in a well managed school with excellent pupil behaviour. The school have previously worked with Teaching Personnel to source graduates who have now successfully secured teacher training placements and even permanent teaching roles at the school once they had completed their training.

The school;

  • The school currently has around 900 pupils on roll. (Smaller than the average Secondary school in the area.)
  • Located on the outskirts of Bolton and is just a short drive away from the M61
  • There are extremely good public transport links in the area giving staff easy access to the surrounding areas Bury, Salford, Wigan and Manchester.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
