Are you coming towards the end of your degree/studies and looking for support with a route in to secondary teaching?

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a nationally recognised teaching school in Blackburn, in preparation for September 2018 and in collaboration with our future teachers programme, we have a number of graduate teaching assistant positions throughout our partner schools in East Lancashire, including Blackburn, Burnley and surrounding areas. We are looking for ambitious graduates who are keen to pursue a career in teaching, this is a 12 month position as a graduate teaching assistant in which you will be fully supported as you prepare for teacher training and the schools direct teaching programme from September 2019.

  • Graduate teaching assistant , full time 12 month position from September 2018
  • Set placement in one secondary school preparing your for teacher training
  • Induction process in the summer prior to September, regular training opportunities
  • Train to become a secondary teacher in a Nationally recognised, outstanding teaching school
  • All subjects welcome, positions in English, Maths and Science (plus none core subjects)

This is a programme designed by the school working in partnership with Teaching Personnel, so for 12 months and the next academic year you will work as a teaching assistant within the selected school. Responsibilities will include; supporting class teachers in lessons, leading small groups within specific subjects, monitoring progress and attainment and reporting to class teachers. This is a graduate programme; you will be fully supported for 12 months and readied to then begin your teacher training from September 2019 within your chosen subject. This is a successful method by the school to recruit graduates and develop them to become outstanding teachers, we welcome applications from all graduates keen to forge a career in teaching.

Teaching Personnel are facilitating the recruitment on our schools behalf, to be considered you will need to have or be nearing the end of your degree, previous experience in a school is advantageous but not essential.
