Graduate Teaching Assistant - Bridgend

Do you have the ability to make a difference to young people in schools? Have you got experience working with pupils aged 11- 16? Can you be a support function to pupils that show challenging behaviour in the classroom?

At Teaching Personnel we are working with our client a secondary school in Bridgend to find a Behaviour Support Assistant to join their team. The role will work with pupils that will be between mainstream lessons and smaller groups lessons where the support from this role will become vital. You may be asked to support 1 individual child with additional learning needs or challenges, or you may be asked to support with a group of pupils.

Key highlights of the role are:

  • 5 days per week on a temporary basis with possibilities of becoming permanent
  • Large school with over 1500 pupils
  • Easy transport links. Situated 10 minutes from M4
  • Heavy focus on CPD
  • Competitive rates of pay from ÂŁ50per day

The successful teaching assistant:

  • Educated to Degree level is preferred but not essential
  • Minimum of grade C in GSCE English & Maths
  • Act as a mentor and support function to the pupils
  • Support emotionally and academically
  • Work closely with the SENCO
  • Show a passion for education and the capabilities to work with challenging behaviour

The school are looking to see candidates for interviews and trials at the earliest convenience so you will need to be able to attend these. All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
