Are you considering a career in teaching? Do you have the drive and passion to shape the minds of the future? I am currently advertising a position on behalf of a contemporary centre of educational excellence in Northamptonshire.

The Future Teachers Programme is a scheme across England & Wales, designed to help address the current shortages of teachers, by attracting and supporting graduates who are considering a career in teaching, but wish to gain paid school based experience prior to starting a teacher training course.

You will have the opportunity to gain a year’s invaluable experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant with one of our reputable partner secondary schools and progress with the same school to do your teacher training on site!

Future Teachers Graduate Scheme gives you the opportunity to experience:

  • One to one specific tuition/interventions where you will utilise your subject knowledge to raise pupil attainment within your subject specialism department
  • SEN support where you can work alongside pupils with Special Educational Needs
  • In-class support in your specialist subject to enhance pupils learning experience
  • Cover supervisor work where you will experience covering lessons and classroom management
  • Assistance with planning and preparation of lessons alongside teachers to upskill you in this area

We currently have schools based across  Luton, Milton Keynes and Northamptonshire that require additional graduates to join their Future Teachers Programme for the current academic year, we have multiple opportunities available and look forward to applications from those considering teacher training in the future

What’s in it for you and what can you expect?

  • Provides insight into the role and allows you decide on your career path before entering full teacher training
  • Placements can range from a term to a full school year depending on your preference
  • A pay rate of GBP65-GBP80 per day
  • The chance to observe differing teaching styles and judge pupil’s learning outcomes
  • Support pupils with coursework, or 121 tuition sessions aimed at raising attainment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
