Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant Wanted

A special school in Coventry/Warwickshire are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant on a full time basis.

The school offers a highly sensory curriculum for pupils with complex needs from 9-19 years of age. You will be required to work across school with both Primary and Secondary aged pupils. Classes are made up of no more than 12 pupils and are organised based on individual needs. You will be working under the direction of a class teacher and will benefit from the support of your colleagues within the learning support team.

This is an ideal role for a recent graduate of Psychology, Sport Science, Childhood or Education Studies who is interested in pursuing a career within Special Educational Needs and wishing to gain further knowledge of delivering and differentiating lessons for SEN learners.

Pupil needs include Autism, Moderate to Severe Learning Disabilities and Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities. As part of the Teaching Assistant role, you may also be required to provide support to pupils who need assistance with personal care, such as feminine hygiene, changing nappies etc. and assisting pupils to use the toilet if they are unable to use the toilet unaided.

As a registered candidate with Teaching Personnel, you will have access to CPD courses such as Team Teach and Moving and Handling, and can earn up to £75 per day
