“We are looking for a graduate mentor who is experienced in supporting students aged 11 - 16 in any setting and looking to progress further into the education sector. The successful graduate mentor will be working alongside teaching and support staff at our highly supportive secondary school, providing support to students at KS3 and GCSE level. Focussing primarily on the core subjects of Maths and English, any graduates with either relevant degree specialisms or a natural flare for Literacy and Numeracy and encouraged to show their interest”

Our client secondary school situated in the Trafford area of South Manchester is looking for a graduate mentor to start with them in January. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to gain experience within a secondary school environment on a full-time basis supporting students in the lower ability sets of Maths and English. The students that require further support have been identified as being behind their peers with regards attainment levels and as a result, funding has been allocated for a graduate mentor to work alongside these students for the period a term.
Supporting from January (potential to start sooner in December) until May for the end of the Spring term and part of the Summer term, the successful graduate mentor should have existing experience of working with individuals aged 11 – 16 in a previous setting. This experience could be from a prior role supporting at a secondary school or teaching/tutoring at a tutor club or any other relevant setting.
Key aspects of the Graduate Mentor role:
- Pay ranging up to GBP1350 per month depending on specific hours
- Full time graduate mentor required: January 2020 - May 2020 in the first instance
- Provide support primarily in Maths and English but also option to support elsewhere in school
- Prior experience is necessary of supporting and working with students aged 11 - 16
- Highly supportive senior leadership team and close-knit SEN department

This secondary school is situated in the South Manchester area of Trafford bordering between Altrincham, Sale and Stretford/Chorlton. The Greater Manchester Metrolink services this area on a very regular basis making it highly accessible all of Manchester as well as being situated near to the M60 motorway network. The school is a large mixed school with approximately 1200 students on roll.
