Graduate Future Teachers Scheme - Stockport

Are you considering a career in teaching? Are you looking for some valuable classroom experience to support a teacher training application?

Teaching Personnel are currently looking for candidates to join our Graduate Future Teachers scheme, which allows prospective teachers to gain valuable classroom experience before commencing teacher training. This is an opportunity for graduates to gain invaluable and paid classroom hours working full time in one of many partner schools across the Greater Manchester area of Stockport.

The role of Graduate Future Teacher is full time and will commence from the start of the new academic year 2021. Candidates must be available 8:30 – 3:00, Monday to Friday for the entire academic year 2021/22.

We are currently looking to hire graduates from core subjects such as English, Maths, Sciences, Humanities as well as Physical Education, Psychology, MFL and more. Graduates must be enthusiastic and committed to a career in teaching.

The role of Graduate Future Teacher will see successful candidates work as classroom teaching assistants, working alongside regular classroom teachers in planning and delivering lessons, assisting students who may be struggling with set tasks and instructions, offering support to vulnerable students (SEN, SEMH students etc) and occasionally covering lessons in the absence of regular teachers. All of the above will provide applicants with a valuable skillset to take forward into teacher training.

Candidate requirements for this position:

  • Core subject graduate or otherwise
  • Committed to a career in secondary teaching
  • Available full time from September 2021
  • Able to provide references with no safeguarding/ disciplinary concerns
  • Child workforce DBS certificate on the update service/ eligibility to apply

We are currently seeking graduates from the Greater Manchester area of Stockport, including Heaton Chapel, Cheadle Hulme, Romiley, Bredbury and the surrounding areas. Teaching Personnel work closely with a number of schools throughout these localities.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
