Are you a university graduate potentially looking at starting a career in education? Cover Supervisor work is an ideal way to not only gain valuable experience to support your PGCE application but to earn a weekly wage while doing so. Due to the success of our busy Secondary branch in Sheffield, we are looking to build up a pool of Cover Supervisors in Chesterfield ready for the next the academic year and are able to offer guaranteed work schemes to suitable candidates.

One of Teaching Personnels partner secondary Academies in Chesterfield require us to provide a number supply Cover Supervisors asap. Due to increased demand from this particular school and other nearby schools in area, we urgently require Cover Supervisors to facilitate the current need.

What does a Cover Supervisor do?

Cover supervisors are responsible for managing the lessons when the teacher is absent for the day. This involves making sure that the class is following the work that the teacher has set for them in the lesson plan and also making sure behaviour is excellent by following the school's behaviour policy. Lesson plans are always already set; it is the job of the cover supervisor to engage the entire class in a way that means the work set is completed with minimal disruption.

What qualities do you need?

  • Confident public speaking
  • Fun but firm presence
  • Ability to be organised
  • An interest in education
  • A strength in a core subject of the secondary curriculum KS3-4
