Graduate Cover Supervisor – Bridgend Secondary Schools

Location: Bridgend
Pay: £110 – £120 per day
Contract Type: Flexible / Ad-hoc / Full-Time
Start Date: Ongoing

Teaching Personnel are seeking confident and motivated Graduate Cover Supervisors to work across our partnership secondary schools in Bridgend.

This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or aspiring teachers to gain valuable classroom experience before pursuing Initial Teacher Training (ITT) or PGCE routes. As a Cover Supervisor, you will deliver pre-set lessons, manage classroom behaviour, and support pupils in maintaining a positive learning environment.

Teaching Personnel offer comprehensive training for preparation for cover supervising and classroom/ behaviour management free of charge to all Teaching Personnel employees.

The Role:

  • Supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain engaged and focused.
  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials across a variety of subjects.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively and maintain a calm, productive atmosphere.
  • Support the learning and progress of pupils aged 11–16.
  • Work flexibly across multiple secondary schools in the Bridgend area.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A recent graduate (any subject welcome).
  • Confident in leading groups of young people and managing behaviour.
  • Adaptable, proactive, and able to build positive relationships quickly.
  • Previous experience in youth work, tutoring, sports coaching, or education is desirable.
  • Willing to apply for an Enhanced DBS certificate (support provided).
