Geography Teacher- Wigan
Geography Teacher needed for a GOOD school in Wigan from April 2018
Teaching Personnel have been approached by one of our partner schools within the Wigan LEA to recruit for a Geography Teacher on their behalf. This is scheduled to start after the Easter holidays and will be until the summer initially.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Geography Teacher to work in a high achieving school with pupils who are engaged and have positive attitudes to learning;
- Full time Geography Teacher required from after the Easter holidays
- Teaching Geography to Key Stages 3 & 4
- Pay in line with MPS/UPS dependant on experience (£22,917- £38,633)
The timetable for this post will be to teach mainly Geography at Key Stage 3. There will also be some Key Stage 4 classes. Further, you must show a willingness to teach the other subjects within the Humanities faculty- History and Religious Education. Further, the successful candidate would be expected to expand Geography into a wider school ethos in terms of Eco Schools and Fair Trade.
In its Ofsted inspection at the start of last year, the school achieved 'GOOD' across all areas of the report making it an ideal environment for a teacher to progress in their career. The Head teacher was praised for continually raising the standards year after year and the support given to all staff. The pupils are respectful of each other and enjoy coming to the school. This is reflected in their engagement within the lessons and the positive ambience throughout the school.
Situated close to Orrell, the school is on the outskirts of Wigan town centre making it easily accessible via car or public transport from the surrounding areas; Skelmersdale, Chorley, Standish & Ashton-in-Makerfield.
The Senior Leadership team are looking to meet interested candidates as soon as possible. Therefore, for immediate consideration please send an updated CV to Paul via the link below or contact the Manchester West Secondary Branch for further information.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
