Geography Teacher Secondary School

Location:

England, Greater London, Tower Hamlets

Job Duties:

  • Deliver engaging and comprehensive Geography lessons to secondary school students
  • Create and implement lesson plans that align with the curriculum and educational standards
  • Provide support and guidance to students in their academic and personal development
  • Evaluate and assess student progress through assignments, tests, and examinations
  • Encourage active participation and foster a positive learning environment
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the Geography curriculum
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance and performance
  • Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student progress and concerns
  • Stay updated with the latest teaching methods, educational resources, and technological advancements
  • Participate in school meetings, professional development programmes, and extracurricular activities

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geography or a related field
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Deep understanding of the Geography curriculum and educational standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities
  • Ability to engage and motivate students
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and learning platforms

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate degree in Geography or Education
  • Experience in implementing innovative teaching methods

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a secondary school setting
  • Regular working hours, typically from Monday to Friday
  • May require occasional participation in extracurricular activities or events outside of regular hours
  • Collaborative work environment with other teachers and school staff

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
