- Supportive school with CPD courses available
Large established Secondary school in Northamptonshire require a qualified Geography teacher for permanent post from September onwards.
Due to a restructuring of the Humanities department, our client school has the need for a Geography teacher to start in September, working alongside current members of their department delivering lessons to GCSE groups as well as taking responsibility for Key Stage 3 classes’ progression for the last term.
Our client school is larger than most secondary schools of a similar nature, with over 1200 pupils currently on roll. The school underwent a rebuild and expansion, and houses excellent facilities that the students and staff are exceptionally proud of. Thought the majority of students on roll are of white British heritage, there are a significant number of students from minority ethnic backgrounds who are supported well through comprehensive EAL. The school meets the current floor standards, the minimum standards set by the government for students’ attainment and progress.
‘Leaders and managers promote a positive tone and have a clear long-term strategy for improving the school. They use data well to identify where teaching is strong or needs to be improved, or where students are at risk of underachieving.’ – Ofsted
Requirements of this post as a Geography teacher;
* UK Qualified Teacher Status – Newly Qualified Teachers are welcome to apply
* PGCE in Secondary Humanities – Geography, History or Religious Education
* Experience teaching Geography to GCSE level
