Are you a Geography teacher looking for a full-time position in a Secondary School?

Teaching Personnel are working alongside a large Secondary School in Wigan who are hoping to recruit a Geography Teacher to join their welcoming staff team for September 2019.

  • Full-time Geography teacher, required from September 2019 until the end of the academic year.
  • 12 month temporary role teaching a full timetable
  • Teaching across Key Stage Three and GCSE
  • Must hold subject specific qualifications within Geography.
  • Both experienced and newly qualified Geography teachers are welcome to apply as relevant induction support will be provided.
  • Pay in line with teaching scale point (£23,720 - £39,406 per annum)
  • Secondary school looking for ambitious staff to help improve overall student attainment

The incoming Geography teacher can expect to work with some challenging behaviour alongside pupils in need of extra support to increase their attainment.

The successful Geography teacher will be expected to;

  • Support with the development of Schemes of Work in line with the National Curriculum for Geography.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver differentiated Geography lessons to meet the needs of individual learners at various levels of learning.
  • Guide pupils with challenging behaviour and implement strategies to help manage this behaviour
  • Assess and evaluate class work reporting back to senior teachers in order to take appropriate action to support pupils in meeting their aims and objectives.
  • Promote positive behaviour management skills amongst pupils and manage behaviour in line with school behaviour policies.

Our partner secondary school is looking for a Geography teacher who can aid challenging pupils' attainment alongside providing behaviour management interventions. Our client school does provide excellent behavioural support for their staff however; any experience with challenging behaviour or behaviour management training will be highly valued.

Our client school is located in the Wigan area and can be accessed via the M6 and A577 from surrounding areas such as Bolton, Salford and Bury. For non-drivers, there are several public transportation links from surrounding areas of Manchester including Bolton and Bury.
