  • Full time Geography teacher required to teach AQA syllabus starting on Monday 21st September
  • Maternity cover required for the full academic year

A secondary school located in the Trafford area of Greater Manchester is looking to recruit a Geography teacher. This is a full time Geography teaching position for the remainder of the academic year with the successful Geography teacher being required to teach up to GCSE level (year 7 – 10). This is to cover a maternity leave which is upcoming and due to take place from the beginning of October – there will be an element of cross over where the successful Geographer will have the chance to get a handover. Given the long term nature of this Geography teaching position, planning and marking will be required.

The Head of Humanities is looking for a passionate Geography teacher to join this large department encompassing Geography, History and Religious Education. The school and department prides itself on providing innovative and engaging lessons ensuring students across the age range are stretched and challenged accordingly. Those students in year 7 – 9 are key to Geography being taken as a subject with the department keen on ensuring the subject is thought highly of.

Highlights of this Geography teaching position:

  • Pay will be dependent upon experience and in line with payscale (in the range of GBP2300 – 2800 per month)
  • Applications are encouraged from teachers of all experience levels (NQTs and more experienced teachers)
  • Full time Geography teaching position starting on Monday 21st September 2020 (chance to start sooner if applicable)
  • ‘Good’ rated secondary school in the Trafford area of Greater Manchester

The school is located in the Trafford area making it easy to commute to for all teachers. The Manchester metrolink tram service travels close to this school in Trafford, making the school accessible for those living in any area of Greater Manchester including Stretford, Oldham, Chorlton, Altrincham and even further afield in Tameside and Stockport. The school boasts fantastic facilities being a large school with a large on site car park for the use of all staff.

The school prides itself on having students who are engaged with school life and are keen to learn. They are therefore looking for a Geography teacher who is able to teach engaging lessons and feed the students’ thirst for knowledge, ensuring that learning objectives are met lesson upon lesson.
