General Teaching Assistant needed in “GOOD” Primary School in Blackpool (FY4)

-          Full-time role starting July 2023

-          Mon- Fri.

-          £11.85-£12.50 per hour.

-          KS1 support opportunity.

-          General Support.

The senior leads of a recently rated ‘GOOD’ school within the Blackpool area are looking to appoint a General Teaching Assistant to support across key stage 1. The successful applicant will need to be adaptable to working with groups of children within the Year 1 class they will be working in, and may be asked to support in different classes across KS1 where needed. The role will run until the end of the academic year, however, there is the potential for extension for the right applicant as the school aim to appoint a permanent member of staff in the new academic year.

This role will work with Teachers to support teaching and learning by working 1:1 and with small groups of pupils under the direction of teaching staff, and may be responsible for some learning activities within the overall teaching plan with access to support and guidance as required. Previous school experience and a good understanding of various Phonics schemes is desirable for this role.

Desired requirements:

-          SEN experience.

-          KS1 support experience.

Essential:

-          Experience supporting children in a work based setting.

-          Strong understanding of the curriculum.

-          An Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service or the ability to apply for one.

-          Flexibility and adaptability to work with different groups of children.
