Science tutors required for specialist LAC intervention roles!

Teaching Personnel specialises in intervention and SEN services, in particular for disengaged young people or for those in care. There is a particularly high demand at this time of year for Science tutors to motivate and engage students in the build up to their GCSE’s.

If you’re a recent graduate looking to start a career in teaching, or an experienced teacher looking for a new challenge, then we have the perfect opportunity for you. As an Science tutor, you will be providing help and support to pupils who are struggling to access the Science curriculum (all three subject areas), predominantly with those who are Looked After.

We will consider graduates or those who have A Levels in any of the Sciences, in addition to PTLLS or PGCE trained teachers.

These tutoring opportunities will mostly take place during school hours, at a suitable learning environment within the school. We will match the tutoring work opportunities with your availability and location, becoming a truly flexible role.

Responsibilities will include;

• Aiding students through creative pre-planned activities

• Motivating students by showing enthusiasm and creativity

• Undertaking structured and agreed learning activities/learning programmes

• Passing feedback to teachers about children’s development

• Working with LAC students who may present with challenging behaviour

The successful candidate will be someone who is passionate about working with children and engaging them in their studies.

Any Science related degree is highly desirable.
