Secondary School General Cover Teacher – South West London
Flexible Work | Day‑to‑Day & Long‑Term Opportunities | Immediate Start Available
We are working closely with a number of secondary schools across South West London who are looking to appoint reliable and confident General Cover Teachers to provide classroom supervision and support across a range of subjects.
This role is ideal for qualified teachers, ECTs, or experienced cover staff seeking flexible work or longer‑term opportunities within secondary education.
Role Details
- Position: General Cover Teacher (Secondary)
- Location: South West London (including Wandsworth, Merton, Lambeth, Kingston and surrounding areas)
- Working Pattern: Flexible – day‑to‑day, short‑term and long‑term cover available
- Start Date: ASAP
- Type: Full‑time or part‑time options available
✅ Responsibilities
As a General Cover Teacher, your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering pre‑set lesson plans across a variety of subjects
- Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Ensuring a positive and productive learning environment
- Supporting students across KS3 & KS4 (KS5 experience desirable but not essential)
- Taking attendance and following safeguarding procedures
- Providing feedback to departments where required
✅ Candidate Requirements
- Experience working in a secondary school setting
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), ECTs or experienced cover supervisors welcomed
- Strong classroom and behaviour‑management skills
- Confident engaging with students across KS3–KS4
- Professional, reliable and adaptable
- Ability to commute to schools across South West London

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
