Location: Northumberland, NE44
Position: GCSE Tutor
Job Type: Part-Time / Flexible Hours
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, during school hours
Pay Rate: Competitive, dependent on experience and qualifications

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and experienced GCSE Tutor to provide high-quality one-to-one tuition for students in the Northumberland area. This role involves supporting learners in achieving their academic goals, building confidence, and preparing effectively for GCSE examinations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging and personalised GCSE tuition sessions.
  • Support students in one or more core subjects, including English, Maths, and Science.
  • Assess learning needs and create tailored lesson plans.
  • Track and report on student progress.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to suit individual learning styles and abilities.
  • Encourage student motivation, confidence, and independent learning.

Requirements

  • Experience teaching or tutoring GCSE-level students.
  • Strong subject knowledge in relevant GCSE subjects.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to build positive and productive relationships with learners.
  • Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Right to work in the UK.

Desirable

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Previous experience providing one-to-one tuition.
  • Experience supporting students who require additional academic intervention.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
