Are you a graduate looking to work in a secondary school to gain experience before starting a career in teaching. If you are looking to become a teacher in the future and want to gain school based experience before applying for a PGCE the future teachers programme is perfect for you.
The programme provides graduates with a year long placement working as a learning mentor, teaching assistant or tutor to students who require additional learning support to ensure they are achieving progress throughout their school life.
Graduates in English, Maths, Science and Languages will be able to support students in these areas working alongside full class teachers in the classroom and on a small group and 1:1 basis. Teaching Personnel support secondary schools across Manchester, Tameside, Trafford, Stockport and Cheshire East. The Future Teachers programme was originally created to help the national teacher shortage with schools breeding their own by having graduates working as teaching assistants before going on to their own schools direct teacher training programme.
Highlights of the future teacher programme;
- Gain first hand school based experience
- Paid on a weekly basis £250-£330 per week
- Working in your area of expertise dependant on your subject
- Supporting students on a small group and 1:1 basis
Desirable criteria for this post;
- University degree ideally in the area of English, maths, science or languages
- Clear passion for working with young people
- Flexible nature and working attitude
- Desire to become a teacher in the future
