We are working with Local Authorities throughout Derby and the surrounding areas (including virtual schools & SEN services) to provide 1:1 tuition to pupils who are persistently absent from school or not in education.
Our main objective is to help pupils reintegrate back into school confidently and ensure they do not fall behind in the curriculum.
Secondary and FE teachers’ welcome teachers from all backgrounds.
The role:
- Providing 1:1 support in Key Skills
- Planning individualised programmes of learning
- Tutoring within the home environment
- Tailoring your approach so children learn and progress at their own pace
Tuition requests vary from 5 to 25 hours depending on the needs of the pupil. You are able to accept as much or as little work as you like and can cater to both part time and full-time hours.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Experience planning and delivering Functional Skills Maths and English
- Endless enthusiasm and patience
- Experience working with primary or secondary aged pupils
- Experience working with children in a tuition capacity (desirable)
- A valid, enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to apply for one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
