Year 4 Class Teacher - Chorley Primary School
An exciting long term opportunity has arisen in at a school in Chorley, located only minutes from the high street and public transport services. The school offers a warm welcome which is emphasised through the leadership of the Head teacher in school. The school is set up to support children arriving from a mixture of backgrounds with Ofsted noting that the number of disadvantaged children is above average as well as the children with special educational needs. With this taken into account, the school are looking to appoint an experienced and dedicated teacher who will commit to the role and improve standards in the classroom. Within school there is a rich community spirit which is emphasised in the day to day working of the school; with family liaison officers and teaching support assistants working effortlessly to ensure the children are able to meet their expected age related levels and progress. The Lancashire Central Primary team are always keen to hear from experienced teachers so don't hang around to contact us further. This is a school who have recently received a very positive Ofsted inspection overall grading and so there are plenty of teachers who would love to work in school.
The role will commence from as soon as possible, as the current Year 4 teacher has been taken sick and expected to be off from school indefinitely. The role is expected to continue for the full academic year on a full time basis. You will be given PPA time to plan and assess the children in order to make expected progress. You will also be expected to feed up any progress to the Head teacher and SENCO in school who will use assessment information to develop other learning opportunities. This area of Chorley is pretty mixed in terms of the children's backgrounds and demographic, most parents are on board with the school and fully support the work undertaken by the class teachers and Senior Leaders in school. Most recently, the Head teacher has worked on bringing the families in school closer through a number of family fun days and coffee mornings where the parents are given the opportunity to have a voice and offer feedback. The school have seen the results in attendance and behaviour improve even more so since this incentive and so it will be important that the applying candidates are keen to continue the good work, in the local Chorley area.
KS2 experience is essential with this role, preferably LKS2.
Qualified Teacher Status is also a necessity.
The school does have the capacity to employ a temporary Newly Qualified Teacher but will consider any experiences.
Working in a school previously with a challenging catchment is important but only preferable.
The school does hold a strong community spirit and so it is important that the applying candidates are able to support this in every day life across the school.
Please contact me for further information on the role. I am contactable by email or by telephone in the office.
