Full-Time Autism Spectrum Disorder Teaching Assistant

Are you a teaching assistant, capable of working with pupils with ASD and complex needs? Or, are you a strong teaching assistant seeking a new challenge in a Primary School?

An over-subscribed Primary Academy in Croydon, which caters for both mainstream pupils and pupils with ASD and complex needs, requires a strong and enthusiastic teaching assistant for a long-term role in January 2019.

Class sizes are very small, and excellent support will be in place to assist the teacher within the classroom. However, this role will entail working with pupils with ASD and complex needs within their Enhanced Learning Provision (ELP), so previous experience of working with pupils in a similar setting is undoubtedly advantageous.

Our client School has an Enhanced Learning Provision (ELP) for children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD). There are 35 pupils within the ELP, which covers the full primary age range and these are allocated in partnership with Croydon's Special Educational Needs (SEN) Team.

Ideally, you will:

* Be able to commit to a full-time role (5 days per week).
* Have previous experience working with children with different educational
needs.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Familiarity with instructional approaches required to facilitate complete access
to the curriculum for pupils with ASD and other complex needs.
