Job description

My Secondary school located in the education authority of Bradford is looking to recruit a GCSE level Food Technology Teacher to join them at the beginning of the new academic year in September 2020. This is based on the assumption that schools will already have reopened by then or open in September from the national closures. The school is set to return from the summer break on Monday 7th September with the successfully appointed Food Technology teacher expected to start with this school on that date.
“We are looking for a passionate, subject specialist who is able to teach proficiently to KS4, GCSE level. We follow the AQA syllabus, so any knowledge or experience of this curriculum is particularly desirable but certainly not essential. We are happy to accept applications from teachers of all experience levels including those that are newly qualified either last year or currently training as well as those that are more experienced. The current situation has instilled a lot of uncertainty within the education sector but we are looking to prepare in the right way looking ahead to the new academic year”
- School Head Teacher
The school are keen on engaging Food Technology lessons with innovation where possible to keep students interested; the department has fantastic resources and access to interactive whiteboards as required. The successfully appointed teacher should be able to teach in a novel and engaging way.
This teaching position is an open vacancy at this school with the school opting to recruit a Food Technology teacher on a supply basis in the first instance before progressing them onto a school based contract for the right candidate.
Key features of this teaching position:
- Pay will be dependent upon experience and role being offered, in line with: GBP24,373 and GBP40,490 (new pay-scales to be adhered to)
- Full time teaching position starting on Monday 7th September 2020
- Teach at a highly reputable secondary school situated in the Bradford area
- Co-educational secondary school which is easily accessible via public transport and those travelling by car
- Planning and marking responsibilities will be part of this longer-term teaching position
This school is situated in Bradford making it very easy to get to for any teachers travelling via public transport or by car. The train station makes the school accessible from further afield, such as Leeds, Wakefield Halifax. For those teachers that travel by car, the school is situated in the BD3 area of Bradford. Please sent an updated CV to Brian from the Leeds Bradford office, for immediate consideration.
