Teacher of Food and Nutrition for September 2019

Teaching Personnel are seeking to recruit a highly skilled, enthusiastic Food and Nutrition teacher to join one of our many schools at the start of the new academic year. If you are looking for a new beginning in September 2019 then now is the time to let us do the hard work for you. All of the schools in which we work with range from 'Good' to 'outstanding' from their latest Ofsted reports. The schools are supportive of all applicants, established teachers, NQTs and some school are willing to consider unqualified teachers providing excellent subject knowledge and previous relevant experience. CPD is offered in all schools no matter the stage of your career and your longer term plans. Teaching Personnel offer its own heavily discounted CPD academy to allow you to further progress and gain other qualifications if you chose to pursue this.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To plan, implement and monitor schemes of work, lesson plans and student Self Directed Learning assignments.
  • To ensure the Self Directed Learning philosophy of the school is present in the opportunities presented to the students
  • Use a wide range of resources and extracurricular activities to provide students with a broad range of activities and experiences in keeping with the School's guidelines
  • To set targets, based on prior attainments, and undertake effective, informative marking which will extend and develop all students
  • To keep appropriate records of progress and attainment of students for use in planning and for reporting accordingly to parents

You will:

  • Have Qualified Teacher Status and a related degree to your specialism
  • Possess recent experience of teaching Food and Nutrition to KS3-KS5 students
  • Knowledge of GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition exam specifications
  • Have a diverse set of skills which will enable you to be flexible working in the classroom and our modern learning centre
  • Be able to work creatively and strategically in an 'all-through' school
  • Be an innovative and reflective practitioner who is keen to learn
  • Committed to improving the life chances of every child
  • Respect the schools Ethos and Values
