Early Years Teaching Assistant Required for Primary School in Cardiff

  • Working alongside an experienced EYFS leader and in “Good” EYFS department.
  • Experience of Phonics schemes “Letters and Sounds”, “Jolly Phonics” “Read, Write Inc.”
  • Small group work with reading, phonics and numeracy.

A large, 3 form entry Primary School in Cardiff are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant for their Early Years Department. As an early years teaching assistant you would be required to take a lead on working with small groups of children with a focus on phonics, literacy and numeracy in particular. With phonics being a huge focus area within the curriculum, a teaching assistant with experience of phonics schemes such as “Letters and Sounds”, “Jolly Phonics” or “Read, Write Inc.” would be a huge advantage.

When working in a school in the Cardiff area, it is important to have a caring, nurturing nature whist having the confidence to set strict boundaries. Experience of leading small groups and taking a lead on phonics, literacy and Numeracy would be beneficial.

- Salary – £13,000 - £18,000

- Opportunity for a permanent contract in the future

- Good links to the local area and close to Cardiff City Centre.

Working in a school like this would provide you with a wealth of experience and professional development to build upon in the future. Graduates of Early Years endorsed degrees along with TA Certificates at Level 2 and Level3 would be encouraged to apply.
