The Role

As an EYFS Teaching Assistant you will:

• Work alongside the class teacher to support the delivery of the EYFS curriculum, helping children aged 3-5 to learn through play, exploration and structured activities.

• Support group and individual learning, including children who may require additional support.

• Assist in preparing, organising and maintaining indoor and outdoor learning environments that engage young children effectively.

• Observe, record and contribute to children’s progress and development in line with the EYFS framework.

• Promote high standards of behaviour, safeguarding, inclusion and wellbeing for all pupils.

Essential Qualifications and Requirements
To be considered for this role you will need:

• A recognised childcare/education qualification at Level 2 or preferably Level 3 relevant to EYFS/supporting teaching and learning.
  

• Good literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to GCSE Grade C/4 (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  

• A good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and how young children learn.
  

• Experience of working with young children (paid or voluntary) in an educational or childcare setting.

• Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain) and a commitment to safeguarding children.

Desirable Qualifications and Skills

• Level 3 (or above) qualification in Supporting Teaching & Learning, Early Years or equivalent.
  

• First Aid at Work / Paediatric First Aid certificate.
  

• Experience working in an EYFS or Nursery setting, including supporting children with SEND.
  

• Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills; a flexible and proactive approach; a passion for working with young children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
